WWE Royal Rumble Predictions

The official road to WrestleMania starts at the Royal Rumble. This event is 30 plus years old and gifts WWE superstars a golden opportunity to headline WrestleMania for a world championship match of their choosing. This is the ultimate battle royal. 30 men and women compete to be the last superstar standing after the eliminations of their 29 opponents by going over the top rope with both feet hitting the floor. The men and women of the WWE are gearing up and creating a buzz in the universe that can only be felt by its fans. This years’ Rumble matches on the men and women side are both up in the air as far as who outlasts the competition.

As of right now, the only 2 confirmed participants in the 2025 Men’s Royal Rumble are John Cena and Roman Reigns. Just with those two names alone, this match will be spectacular and something that can’t be missed. John Cena’s retirement tour finally kicked off on January 6, 2025 on the first Monday Night RAW live on Netflix. In typical Cena style, he expressed his love for the business, admiration for the current WWE roster and knowing that this is his last year, he’ll give it his all for the fans. Even though he’s John Cena, the 16-time WWE champion, he indicated that he’s willing to work his way up the ladder to build credibility to challenge for a world championship. Maybe Cody Rhodes or Gunther at WrestleMania but the Royal Rumble is his lottery ticket to the top of the mountain.

As for Roman Reigns, he just won back his ula fala, making him the one true and only Tribal Chief in the WWE by defeating Solo Sikoa this past Monday night. Now that Sikoa is behind him, Reigns is now looking forward to getting back the Undisputed WWE Championship, which Cody Rhodes (the man who defeated Reigns) still holds. Can you imagine a Cody versus Roman match yet again main eventing WrestleMania? Their first encounter was at WrestleMania 39, where seemingly every wrestling fan in the world thought Cody would win; however, Reigns walked out of Los Angeles still champion. Fast forward to Mania 40, it was “Bloodline Rules” and Reigns had everything in his favor to win again. Yet, with the assistance of John Cena, Seth Rollins and The Undertaker, Cody Rhodes would finish his story and win his first WWE championship in his career. With Mania 41 slowly approaching, it’ll be interesting to see if fans will see the trilogy and possible final showdown of Rhodes and Reigns.

The Royal Rumble is 2 weeks away on February 1, 2025, and with Cena and Reigns being the only superstars officially named in the Rumble match, Reigns would be the best option here. Although this is Cena’s last Royal Rumble, he’s also scheduled for the Elimination Chamber PLE as well. That’s another chance for Cena to go after the world title. The story with Reigns of coming back, winning the ula fala and slowly getting his championship back is the greater one here to tell. Also, let's not forget about this “favor” that CM Punk and Paul Heyman had disclosed during the buildup to the War Games match, which will tell an even bigger story within the coming weeks.
