This week Saudi Arabia was announced as the official host country for the 2034 FIFA World Cup, with the FIFA restrictions due to the 2030 World Cup taking place across the three continents of Africa, Europe, and South America. This announcement is an official confirmation after FIFA President Gianni Infantino named Saudi Arabia a potential host nation late last year. This marks the second World Cup that will take place in the Middle East as Qatar hosted the tournament in 2022. FIFA hasn’t announced whether the tournament will take place in the Winter like the Qatar World Cup but fans can expect that to be the case due to the extreme summer heat in the Middle East. Fans are not keeping quiet about the selection process of a host country, as many criticized FIFA for speeding up the bidding process by three years hindering the bidding ability of other countries.

UEFA announced the qualifying groups for the 2026 World Cup. Many groups are completely set with a couple of UEFA’s top-ranking teams set to play each other to round out the groups.
