The final 24 hours of the transfer window in soccer were filled with several clubs making last-minute moves to boost their squads for the first half of the season. With UEFA competition draws now being settled, clubs from across Europe's top five leagues are making last-minute deals to help bring as much silverware to their clubs this season. Here are some transfers that occurred in the final hours of the window. Jaden Sancho to Chelsea
First reported by Fabrizio Romano, England international Jadon Sancho completed his loan move to the Blues after talks picked up in the last week, with the club showing interest in the winger. Sancho is coming off a loan move last season with Borussia Dortmund after a disappointing few seasons with Manchester United. United signed the winger in 2021 for 85 million euros, returning to the city of Manchester after spending his later youth career in the city. Sancho in 83 appearances, scored just 12 goals across all competitions compared to his 50 goals in 137 appearances at Borussia Dortmund. Now Sancho will look to get his career back on track in London. The deal is a 1-year loan deal with an obligation to buy for 25 million euros. Tottenham completes two deals with Real Betis
Tottenham were rumored in the past days to make a move in the final hours of the transfer window as manager Ange Postecoglu is in his second season with Lilywhites. Cardoso is a United States international and is seen as a prospect for the 2026 World Cup. Cardoso is coming off a six-month stint with Spanish side Real Betis which competes in La Liga, and was a spark for the team after arriving in the winter transfer window. Cardoso will now spend this season with the Lilywhites with the English side having a priority signing clause. This means if Real Betis wants to sell the player after this season the English side has top priority to acquire the American. Tottenham also gets a percentage of any potential deal if the player doesn’t join the club permanently. Tottenham also completed a second deal with the Spanish side sending midfielder Giovani Lo Celso to the club on a permanent basis. Victor Osimhen's move to Chelsea falls through
Victor Osimhen is a highly-rated striker in Europe. Osimhen has made it known that he doesn’t want to return to SSC Napoli with the striker trying to secure a move away from the club for the second summer window in a row. Osimhen has been in negotiation with Chelsea for many weeks with the Blues wanting to sign the striker to fix a glaring issue that the London club has been wanting to address for multiple seasons. Fabrizio Ramano reported the relationship between Osimhen’s camp and Chelsea representatives is completely broken with negotiations now over. SSC Napoli manager Antonio Conte has already told Osimhen that he will not be a part of the first-team squad. The only option now for Osimhen and his camp is a move to Saudi Arabia with their soccer transfer window ending in three days, if not the player could risk not playing this season.
