Jets-Texans Recap

The New York Jets saved their season on Thursday Night and defeated the Houston Texans 21-13. With this win the Jets keep a sliver of hope alive going down the stretch. It definitely was not pretty in the first half, but that is why you play a full 60 minutes.

The Jets offense was held scoreless in the first. They managed to catch fire and put up 21 in the second half and it might be the jump start they needed to turn things around on that side of the ball. Aaron Rodgers finished 22-32 for 211 yards and 3 touchdowns. It was by the best Rodgers has looked this season. Davante Adams finally got involved in the Jets offense since getting traded and put up 7 catches for 91 yards and a touchdown. Garrett Wilson also had a massive game amassing 9 catches for 90 yards and 2 touchdowns. One of those catches was one of the best catches you will ever see in the end zone. If the Jets offense is going to play like they played in the second half, things can change quickly on the outlook of their seasons.

The Texans have been a weird team this year. After the loss yesterday they fell to 6-3 and it has been up and down. If you watch them they do not look like a 6-3 team. CJ Stroud has regressed in his second year as the QB for the Texans. It has been back-to-back games now that he has looked bad. Yesterday he finished 11-30 for 191 yards. It did not help that Stroud got sacked 8 times. The Texan's offensive line has looked really bad all season. The one bright spot though for the Texans is Joe Mixon. He has been one of the best running backs in the NFL this season. He added on to it yesterday with 24 carries 106 yards and a touchdown. If they did not have Mixon running the football yesterday it would have looked really bad for the Texans. The Texans really need Nico Collins back from injury. The offense has looked bad in every game without him under Stroud. Hopefully, the Texans can get healthy because they are a good team when they are healthy.

This game signified a team heading toward a decline and a team on the rise. There is still plenty of time in the season but as of right now the Texans are falling and the Jets are rising right now. Their is still plenty of time left in this season, but as of right now the Jets with a losing record look better then the 6-3 Texans.
