Going into this NFL Season, The Washington Commanders decided to make a big decision at quarterback. The number 2 overall pick in the 2024 draft: Jayden Daniels out of LSU was named the starting quarterback going into this upcoming season. Daniel’s shot up the draft boards this past season after his historic Heisman season putting up insane numbers. The rookie threw for 3,812 yards with 40 touchdowns with an additional 1,134 yards and 10 touchdowns on the ground.
The commanders, who have struggled these past couple of seasons had one of their worst seasons, going 4-13 and landing them the 2 pick in the draft. This set their attention to Daniel’s and his dangerous season at LSU and they knew they had their guy.
Daniels had some moments this preseason going 12-15 with 123 yards through the air and an additional touchdown on the ground. He was able to lead some great drives and showed his ability to be a great dual threat using his legs.
”Just the speed and how smart everyone is..” Daniel’s said after being asked how different the college game is from NFL ball. Daniel’s knows he will have to be locked in for the Commanders week 1 matchup against the Buccaneers.
