While it is still early in the NBA season, there are multiple teams that are already making some serious noise. The biggest story in the league is Cleveland. The Cavaliers are scorching hot right now with an 11-0 record. After years of early playoff elimination, Donovan Mitchell and Darius Garland are looking for a championship. Of course, you cannot forget the reigning champions, the Boston Celtics. Although the Cavs are off to an amazing start to the season, it’s way too early to say they are a true contender. I cannot imagine them beating the Celtics, who have experience and dominance over Cleveland. To determine a true contender in the NBA, you must look at these factors: experience, resume, and the track record. The track record shows this Cavs team has gotten bounced in the first or second round many times. The resume amongst their players isn’t strong enough. The experience is lacking, and it will be obvious late in the season. There have been many cases of teams that started off scorching hot to a long NBA season and eventually fizzled out. I do think Cleveland gets to the second round, but they will run into Boston once again and get handled.
