Davante Adams Requests Trade

Davante Adams has officially requested a trade from the Las Vegas Raiders. The Raiders have informed NFL teams that they would be willing to trade Adams, this would be a package built around a second round pick. Adams had initially been traded from the Packers to team up with his former teammate in college Derrick Carr. Since 2022 it hasn't exactly worked out and Adams could be a key piece for many offenses in the NFL.

The first destination I could see is the Kansas City Chiefs. After Last week's game Rashee Rice suffered an injury and could be seen as a season ending injury. This would make the Chiefs’ biggest need wide receiver. This could be huge for Mahomes as he hasn't had a true number one in the past two seasons, and Adams would fit this need. The biggest problem with this trade is that the Chiefs and Raiders are division rivals. With that said, the Chiefs might be the most desperate for a wide receiver and I could see them giving up the biggest package for Adams.

The New York Jets would be a very fun fit. Rodgers and Adams were one of the best quarterback and receiver duos of the last decade on the Packers. It would be great to see them together again in New York in Rodgers’ last years. The Jets had a pretty brutal loss against the Broncos last week as they lost 9-10. The offense struggled mightily, and Pat Surtain locked down Garrett Wilson, their number one. Getting another weapon for Rodgers could take this offense to the next level, and make them playoff contenders. The Jets are currently 2-2 and need a boost to this offense. We have already seen the Jets help get Rodgers’ his old weapons in Randall Cobb and Allen Lazard, why not go after Adams too.

The third destination I could see Adams going to is the Atlanta Falcons. The Falcons are currently 2-2 as well and I could see them making a push. I feel like the NFC south is one of the only divisions that are wide open. The Falcons are in a win now mode as they arguably had the biggest offseason. Adams would be huge for this offense, it still seems like Kyle Pitts won’t feature in this offense as he didn't even have a catch last week. The Falcons would use a true number one as Drake London hasn't gotten there quite yet, but could be in the future.

Lastly, I have the Pittsburgh Steelers being a dark horse in this race. The Steelers aren't exactly known for making big moves like this. In recent years they have let go of receivers like trading away Chase Claypool and Dionte Johnson in recent years. The Steelers have a real chance at winning this very tough division with Fields at quarterback. Their receiver room only really consists of George Pickens, they could really use the help for Fields. The Steelers are off to a much better start than the Bengals, Ravens, and Browns, I really like their chances this season with Adams on the roster.
