2 of WWE's Biggest Moments in 2024

World Wrestling Entertainment is on absolute fire as of lately and it’s only going to get even hotter as time goes by. With Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns leading the charge, the company is at its peak right now with Triple H at the helm. Once Triple H took creative control, it was only a matter of time that the environment on television and the locker room would swiftly change gears. With 2 more months left in the year of 2024, let's look back at 2 of the biggest moments in the WWE so far this year.

Entering the 2024, WWE fans were clamoring for Cody Rhodes to finally finish his story at Wrestlemania 40 and do the unthinkable and defeat Roman Reigns. However, CCO (Chief Content Officer) Triple H initially had different plans. The plan was for The Rock and Roman Reigns to face off in the main event of Mania 40 but the fans overruled that decision by simply using their voices at shows and on social media. Doing this, the fans got what they wanted and Cody got his match at Wrestlemania with Reigns but with a twist. Rhodes would team up with Seth “Freakin” Rollins going toe to toe with The Rock and Roman Reigns during night one Mania to determine the implications of night two.

With Reigns and Rock winning, Bloodline Rules were in effect for Rhodes and Reigns, which means anything goes and no disqualifications.  In typical heel fashion, Reigns and his bloodline would intervene making seemingly no way that Rhodes would make a comeback. John Cena, Seth Rollins and The Undertaker would all arise and assist Cody by beating down the Bloodline and clear the way for Rhodes to takedown The Tribal Chief. Rhodes would win his very first WWE championship and the crowd ate up the moment. Rhodes' family, wife, friends and even legendary coworkers in the company were all out there to celebrate Cody and it was such an amazing wrestling moment throughout.

Just recently at WWE’s Premium Live Event Bad Blood in Atlanta, Georgia was the showdown of the century. CM Punk battled his arch nemesis in Drew McIntyre in Hell in a Cell match and it was gruesome. Back in November of last year, Punk returned to the WWE after a 10 year absence. Fans embraced him with open arms but not many in the locker room at first. One of those people was Drew McIntyre who took his return as a slap in the face.

McIntyre hated Punk for coming back only to take the spots that McIntyre felt like he deserved and Punk is only here for a check. After going back and forth for weeks, one would assume that a match between the two would be on the way. Punk would get injured during his time in the Royal Rumble match but that didn’t stop him from playing a major role at Wrestlemania 40. Punk was a guest commentator during McIntyre’s match against Rollins for the World Heavyweight championship. Although McIntyre had won the match, he couldn’t help himself by getting into Punk’s face and gloating about his win. Punk would attack McIntyre only for Damian Priest to cash in his Money in the Bank contract and defeat McIntyre.

Drew would get another shot at Priest weeks later at Clash at the Castle, only for Punk to once more screw Drew out of a championship win by playing as the referee and not allowing McIntyre to win. After getting robbed out of 2 championship matches, McIntyre wants a match with Punk and by that point, it would get personal between the two. These two would go on and have 3 straight PLE matches from Summerslam to Bash at Berlin and ended at Bad Blood. The intensity, and the emotion that came with their matches has fans feeling like this was the best rivalry all year.
